The most represented dinghies in UVM are:
CLASS A - Our waters are ideal for this type of technological catamaran; thermal winds and small waves allow foiling models to "fly" easily. Every other year, our club organizes regattas of national importance with the participation of international athletes at the top of the world rankings. Our team participates in the circuit of the most important national and European regattas.
ILCA (Formerly Laser) - The largest team, composed primarily of Master sailors who meet every weekend to prepare for local, national, and Eurocup regattas.
12' DINGHY - The master class par excellence is well represented by enthusiasts who participate in all national regattas. Together with their cousins from the Alto Verbano Sailing Association, the Maccagno dinghy sailors are part of the Verbano Fleet.
FIREBALL - Every year, our club organizes a classic of the class: the Fireball d'Oro, an Italian-Swiss championship in which many crews from across the Alps participate. Two of our crews are passionate about this sport.
ISO AND BUZZ - Topper skiffs are popular especially on our lake and in England. Every other year, the UVM organizes the Eurocup, which takes place in July and attracts a large number of crews from across the Channel.
RS AERO - The RS Aero class schedules a regatta in Maccagno every year, attracting athletes from all over the world. Modern single-handed dinghy sailing is growing in number every year, and the UVM is delighted to support this class.
Many UVM members are offshore sailors with ocean experience on both cruising and racing boats.
